Dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Roberson

My wife and I had dinner with James and Linda Roberson. They just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. 35YRS!! WOW!!! They've been like mom and dad to us for a long time. We were very excited when they came into town. Thank you mom and dad, we had a wonderful time.

You can still see and feel the love between them.

My Fathers Day Gift

I really believe my family loves me. They feed me, they clothe me and sometimes they even chauffeur me. So pretty often I feel special. 2007 Fathers Day was really special. I was given a GPS and we used it on our trip to "The New Orleans Zoo." Now that was cool. The kids had a wonderful time. We had a chance to see some of my wife's family there...(laughing, inside joke) You know I love you sweetie.

Here are some photos I took. Walking a good two miles through that zoo and carrying a Nikon D2XS wasn't fun, but for some of these shots, I'd do it again.

My Nephew during his glory days

Here is some video out of the chest buried deep in the attic. My nephew Qualin Young played football for a number of years. This was my favorite year. He's #22. Pay attention to his blocking and tackling abilities. Count how many times he pie faces the quarterback. Did I mention he could run also?

I put this video together not only for him but also for me to reminisce. He played for a park in Homewood, Alabama in 2000. They call him "Lil Shrek" after his older brother Quintarius. I call him "The Truth!"

For all you sports enthusiast...check this out.

My sons Football tooth extraction

Blessings are bestowed upon us daily. For some of us, the toughest part is recognizing them. Well, my wife and I have three. We knew these were from God for sure.

I truly believe God has a sense of humor and some of it "ranneth" over into my cup. (laughing)
My son had a loose tooth so I wanted to give him something to talk about for the rest of his life. I don't think my wife was in agreement with me but as usual, I couldn't resist the temptation. He's OKAY honey. He's now waiting for the tooth fairy to come.

Let me know what you think about our "Football Tooth Extraction." I thought it was cool.

Gulf Coast Universal Riders, est. 2007

Today, I was invited to photograph a gathering that took me by surprise. There is something about a seeing a group of motorcycles that excites me. I felt like the security guard attending the police officer convention...(one day...). (Laughing)

These were some of the most beautiful motorcycles I've ever seen. I was in Goldwing heaven. The club has only been established for a few months but they act as though they've been here for years. There's a closeness that's evident that displays the bond of a veteran organization. Darryl and JoAnn Dawson hosted the event. I really enjoyed hanging out with the "Gulf Coast Universal Riders."
Here are a few photos from our day.

"A Day With Varion" 07/07/07

That day was truly a special day. Varion Walton is a dear friend of mine. She invited my wife and I to her birthday party at the historical hotel "The Battle House" and specifically said not to bring my camera. Now that was cute...that's like jumping in the pool and not getting wet.

This wasn't an ordinary birthday party. She's a news anchor at a local television station so being in front of a camera wasn't new to her. We wanted to capture every moment...from the time we walked in the door to the time we walked out. I was magnificent!! We were taken on a tour, given champagne, ate good food, and listened to some of the best vocalist around.

She was able to let her hair down and just enjoy the night. Here are some of the photos we took. Scroll to the bottom of this blog and you'll be able to view her photo slide show. (Internet audio)
Enjoy.
